Purr-Chase With a Purpose

At McHugh CDJR, we've been a third-generation family business in Zanesville since the 1960s — and every decision we make is rooted in the same thing: doing right by our community. This June 1–7, we're putting that belief to work with Purr-Chase With a Purpose, a week-long charity sales event where every vehicle purchase directly funds the rehoming of a rescue cat through Chatty Cat Cafe right here in Zanesville.

This isn't a "we donate a percentage" situation. We sponsor one rehoming per purchase, period — no fine print. And because we know you want to know what that actually means in the real world, let's talk numbers.

What Your Purchase Actually Does

A single cat rehoming through Zanesville-area rescues typically covers spay/neuter surgery ($150–$300), vaccinations and microchipping ($75–$120), and 30+ days of foster care and food ($90–$150). That's a real-world value of $315–$570 in direct animal care per vehicle purchased — not a symbolic gesture, not a round-up-at-checkout. Your car deal funds a complete rescue pipeline.

The prize registry runs on the same math. Gas cards in the Zanesville area average $50–$100 per card, which covers roughly 2–4 full tanks in a standard SUV or the entire first month of fuel-free commuting if you're driving a 4xe on electric-only mode. Cat yoga sessions at Chatty Cat Cafe run $20–$35 per session. McHugh swag is exactly what it sounds like — branded gear that makes you the most interesting person at the trail. Every entry is one purchase.

Why We're Spotlighting the Jeep 4xe

I've been in the Business Center here at McHugh long enough to know the single biggest objection we hear from eco-curious buyers: "I don't want to give up my Jeep to be green." The 4xe (pronounced "four-by-e") was built to obliterate that objection. It pairs a 2.0L turbocharged engine with two electric motors — and those electric motors don't compromise power, they add to it. The instant torque hits before the gas engine even wakes up. That's why the Trailhawk runs a Quadra-Lift air suspension system standard; it's not pretending to be a hybrid economy car. It's a Jeep that happens to let you run your Zanesville commute for free.

The average Muskingum County resident drives 12–18 miles per day. The 4xe delivers 21 miles of EPA-estimated pure-electric range. If you plug in at home overnight on a standard 120V outlet — no special charger, no installation fees, just the cord that comes in the box — you cover your entire work week on electricity you're already paying for. Gas doesn't enter the equation until the weekend, if then.

The Inventory That's Available Right Now

We're highlighting pre-owned 4xe models specifically because the depreciation curve on PHEVs works heavily in your favor as a buyer. These vehicles took their biggest hit the moment the first owner drove off the lot. You get certified technology at a used price. We currently have 46 pre-owned Jeep 4xe vehicles on the lot — Wrangler Rubicons, Wrangler Saharas, Wrangler Willys, Grand Cherokee Trailhawks, Grand Cherokee Limited, and Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve. Here are three worth knowing before you come in.

Daily Commuter: 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Trailhawk

VIN 1C4RJYC69R8941609 — 25,259 miles — $36,999. This is the one built for the person who drives Maple Ave to the office every morning and wants that drive to cost as close to nothing as possible. The Trailhawk trim adds the Quadra-Lift air suspension and Selec-Terrain traction management on top of the 4xe powertrain. You don't give anything up for the efficiency — you gain ground clearance.

Weekend Warrior: 2025 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe

VIN 1C4RJXR63SW580378 — 14,008 miles — $41,999. This is the Wrangler that the off-road community was told couldn't exist — full Rubicon capability, disconnecting front sway bar, locking differentials, 33-inch tires from the factory — and a plug-in hybrid drivetrain underneath it. When the battery runs out on a trail outside of Cambridge, the 2.0L takes over without a hesitation, a warning, or a compromise. Parkersburg to Zanesville on a Sunday — just over an hour on I-77 — doesn't require a charging stop in between.

Family Hauler: 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve

VIN 1C4RJYE61P8844009 — 51,158 miles — $39,999. Summit Reserve is the top of the Grand Cherokee hierarchy — McIntosh audio system, Nappa leather, head-up display — and the 4xe powertrain means a Columbus family making the 55-minute drive east on I-70 to see what all the Zanesville buzz is about arrives having burned almost nothing. For the family that wants their purchase to reflect their values: this car does the charitable work, the fuel work, and the "I'm not apologizing for the interior" work simultaneously.

Not locked into one of these three? We have 46 pre-owned 4xe vehicles on the lot right now — the largest selection in the region. Not locked into a hybrid at all? Every vehicle purchased June 1–7 triggers the rehoming sponsorship regardless of what you buy. What "4xe" Means and Why It Matters

Let me be direct about the most common question I get at the finance desk: no, the 4xe is not less powerful than a gas Jeep. The electric motors deliver torque instantaneously — before the combustion engine has completed a single revolution. Rock crawling at low speed is actually where EVs shine, because sustained, controlled torque is exactly what an electric motor does better than any gas engine. The "4xe" naming is deliberate: it looks like "4x4" at a glance, because Stellantis understood that the biggest adoption barrier wasn't technology fear — it was identity. This is still a Jeep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a special charger installed?
No. The Level 1 charger ships in the box and plugs into any standard 120V household outlet. A full charge takes overnight. If you want faster charging, a Level 2 (240V) charger can be installed by an electrician and typically adds under $500 installed — but it is optional, not required.

What if I already own a cat?
Even better. The sponsorship goes toward a rescue cat in the Chatty Cat Cafe foster system looking for a home. You don't have to adopt. You don't have to do anything except buy the car you were already going to buy.

Can I stack manufacturer incentives with this event?
Pre-owned vehicles are not eligible for OEM new-vehicle incentives, but McHugh may have additional offers running. Check current used specials here. Feature availability subject to final vehicle configuration; please reference the window sticker for full details.*

I'm coming in from Columbus — is it worth the drive?
It's 55 miles east on I-70, about 53 minutes. Our prices were described by one customer as "a lot lower than anticipated" — that's a direct quote from a DealerRater review, not marketing copy. We've been doing this since the 1960s. We're not trying to make it complicated. Our team consistently reviews for being in-and-out in under an hour. Drive out, test drive a 4xe, and let the numbers speak.
